Licensure Bill Introduced in Congress

September 26, 2000

Members of the Alliance for Quality Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy:

We did it! Representative Rick Lazio introduced the Consumer Assurance of Radiologic Excellence Act in the House of Representatives last night. The number assigned to the bill is HR-5274.

Thank you for tireless work on this project. The CARE Act would not have been introduced without your efforts.

Of course, there is still a lot of work to do. Congress is scheduled to recess on Oct. 6. Make sure you contact your House representatives now and encourage them to support this bill. And when Congress reconvenes in January 2001, the CARE Act will need our support again. By working together, we will ensure that all Americans have access to safe, high-quality medical imaging and radiation therapy.

For more information about the bill introduction, visit the ASRT Web site later this week, or visit the Library of Congress Web site.
