The Alliance for Quality Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy is proud to announce the 91st cosponsor has just signed onto HR 1426, the Consumer Assurance of Radiologic Excellence (CARE) bill. To best illustrate this achievement—in the 108th Congressional session, the CARE bill only had 47 cosponsors in the House prior to the 2003 August recess... As you can see, the number of cosponsors in the 109th session of Congress is nearly twice that amount within the same period of time. Keep up the great work!
We need to continue advocating on behalf of the CARE initiative, and the August recess is an ideal time to meet with your Representative at her/his district office. Please set up an appointment with your Representative by calling her/his scheduler at the district office (find contact information online at http://capwiz.com/snm/dbq/officials/). Also, ask fellow members of your chapter and local groups to contact them.
The RadCARE bill has not yet been introduced in the Senate, however, we believe the bill will be introduced shortly after the August recess ends in early September. The SNM will keep you posted.
