NIH Releases Update to Medical Conflict-of-Interest Disclosure Rule

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has updated the regulations regarding disclosure of financial conflicts of interest between researchers receiving federal funding and manufacturers.  The revised rule requires researchers receiving more than $5,000 in income from drug or device manufacturers to disclose those payments.  In addition, institutions that employ researchers must collect the information and have a way to make it publically available.
