On January 10, 2012, Darice Bailey was chosen by The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) as the State Government Representative on the Advisory Committee on the Medical Uses of Isotopes (ACMUI). Established in 1958, ACMUI advises the NRC on technical and policy issues related to the regulation of the medical uses of radioactive material.
Bailey currently is a health physicist serving as the manager of the Radioactive Materials Group at the Texas Department of State Health Services, Radiation Control Program in Austin, Texas, where is she in charge of the inspection and oversight of 2,000 licensees. She has more than 27 years experience in radiation regulation and has tenure as a health physicist in California, Tennessee and Texas.
