House Committee Advances FDA User Fee Legislation

On Thursday, May 10, 2012, the House Energy and Commerce Committee advanced legislation to extend for five years Food and Drug Administration user fees, which fund review and prescription drugs and medical devices.

The bill that was approved by the committee, according to the office of Majority Leader Eric Cantor, R-VA., will be considered by the full House by the end of May. Currently, the FDA user fee authorization expires September 30.
