On Friday, June 8, 2012, the House Energy and Commerce Committee held the hearing “Examining the Appropriateness of Standards for Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Technologists.” The hearing dealt with H.R. 2014 Consistency, Accuracy, Responsibility and Excellence in Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (CARE) Act, which would require medical facilities to hire individuals who meet minimum education and credentialing standards for performing medical imaging and radiation therapy procedures in order to receive Medicare reimbursement.
On behalf of the Society of Nuclear Medicine, SNMTS Advocacy Committee Chair, Lynne Roy submitted a written statement at the invitation of Rep.
