On Monday, June 25, Senators Tom Harkin (D-IA) and Mike Enzi (R-WY), Chairman and Ranking Member on the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee, along with Senator Roger Wicker (R-MS), introduced S. 3338, the Consistency, Accuracy, Responsibility and Excellence (CARE) in Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Act of 2012. The bill would ensure the quality of medical care, improve patient safety and provide health care cost savings.
Rep. Ed Whitfield (KY-1) introduced the House version of the CARE Act, H.R. 2104, on June 2, 2011, which is currently in the Energy and Commerce Committee.
