Avoid Penalties: Report to PQRS
Complimentary Web Seminar on Tuesday, June 25 at Noon ET/11:00 a.m. CT
During the recent SNMMI annual meeting held June 8-12, physicians and practice managers reported that many of their colleagues are not reporting measures in the Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS). At the request of its members, SNMMI provided information (via email) on how to avoid payment adjustments in 2015. The email outlined that in order to avoid penalty adjustments, one need only report one valid measure on one patient. This is best accomplished through claims-based reporting.
Physician members will be penalized 1.5% of their Medicare payments in 2015, and 2% in 2016 and each year thereafter, unless they report through PQRS in 2013. If they successfully report in 2013, physician members will receive a 0.5% bonus from Medicare. PQRS measures reporting is mandatory in 2013, which leaves many physicians at risk because only a small percentage currently report through PQRS.
The Council of Medical Specialty Societies (CMSS) will be hosting a complimentary web seminar on Tuesday, June 25 at Noon ET/11:00 a.m. CT. This resource is beneficial for learning how to use the PQRS program. Physician members and practice managers are invited to join.
The web seminar is complimentary, however registration is required to partake. Please register via the following link: https://www2.gotomeeting.com/register/503023610.
